Egan Bernal is finally back on his back as he returns to riding on the road, this is great news as he is still recovering from the horrific accident he suffered almost two months ago. Now that he is getting back his form, he went on to social media to celebrate this important landmark in his life.

As you can see in the post above, Egan Bernal is riding his bike on scenic hills and gorgeous vistas in the Colombian countryside. He is joined in by his family and Ineos Grenadiers’ teammates, this shows how much loved he is, even outside of his family.
Egan Bernal said on Instagram:
The happiest day of my life. After 2 months and 20 broken bones, here I am, and I want more!
In February, Egan Bernal went through the toughest trial of his life when he crashed into the rear of a bus. He suffered fractured vertebrae, a fractured right femur, a fractured right patella, chest trauma, a punctured lung, and several fractured ribs.
For recovery, he was admitted to the Clínica Universidad de La Sabana where he underwent spinal and other surgeries. With an iron will, Bernal did not give up, there were constant updates of him on social media. His recovery process is going extremely well and we could see him back to racing soon.
Bernal’s coach Xabier Artexte told La Gazzetta dello Sport:
He is working to get back as soon as possible. It could be 2023 but also the end of this year. We must not rule it out, far from it.
