Harley-Davidson is known for making the top-of-the-line heavy bikes and on Tuesday their Serial 1 brand unveiled the newest addition to their e-bike portfolio: The Bash/Mtn Bike. Even though the company has presented it as a mountain bike, you might want to take things easy with this one. The construction of this bike is definitely a surprise, it is a mix of 90s design with today’s technology. I would like to call it a wonder from the 90s, it brings back the nostalgia of a retro mountain bike which is laced with today’s spectacular features and performance.
You might also want to take things easy with the Bash/Mtn because it comes with a front or rear suspension. Although there is a strong and rigid aluminum frame and fork construction, there is no dropper post to be found here. Customization enthusiasts might jump on the bandwagon and try to tamper with the bike but seemingly there is no way to add anything to the bike, yet!
In terms of comfort and relaxation, the only shock absorption comes from the SR Suntour NCX seat post. Since this is an electronic mountain bike, you can get up to 95 miles of range on a full charge, which is impressive. There are a lot of missing features in this bike but Harley-Davidson has justified that these are the very reasons for a purchase. Deeming them as selling points, the company made a statement:
No fussy suspension to tune, no finicky drivetrain to adjust — just two wheels, one gear, and one purpose, to provide the most direct connection between you and the trail.
The unorthodox design can be ignored, the features are something that makes this bike really worthwhile. One of the main highlights of the Bash/Mtn Bike is the 529Wh battery which is completely removable. There are different drive modes that you can choose from and the bike also works perfectly on different types of terrains.
Other remarkable additions are the TRP hydraulic disc brakes and 27.5 inches tubeless-ready tires from Michelin. With these components, you can expect an amazing and comfortable ride. It takes almost 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged although if you are in a hurry then 2.5 hours can get you 75 percent of charge.
As this is a limited series bike, Harley-Davidson will be producing only 1,050 units of this bike. From these units, only 525 units will be sold in the United States. The price tag of this bike is fixed at $3,999 which is still on the affordable side, especially if you look at other brands. Go order yours now!
