Ruben Guerreiro took a spectacle win at the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé. Esteban Chaves of EF Education–EasyPost followed second, falling short of just 2 kilometers behind Ruben who claimed the day. Chaves overpowered Michael Storer, of Groupama-FDJ, 2 kilometers away from the finish line and fell one minute behind Ruben.
EF Education–EasyPost rider Ruben Guerreiro solely took on the final climb with just 12 km to go. In the scorching heat, the 27-year-old made a position to lead in the lower slopes. He then sped off in the middle of the climb, making it hard for everyone else to follow.
Chaves followed suit quickly and sprinted ahead. He followed his teammate up the climb, but Storer gave him some tough time. Esteban dashed with all high might and won the second place for their team. Together they claimed the day for EF Education–EasyPost.
