The Montague Paratrooper is a mountain bike that is very different from what you would usual expect. To kick things off, this bike features a very handy folding design that ensures its portability in any situation. This is a truly pioneering technology that has been patented and perfected over time.
When we received the Montague Paratrooper, we realized that it was a one in a million bike. This frame was made out of 7005 aluminum, the same alloy that is used to make external parts of commercial and military aircraft.
The patented folding design of the bike was actually built for the military at some point. The way it is designed, the bike doesn’t need to be broken down in order to fold it, meaning that there are no hinges to make the durability of the frame worse.
We were able to disassemble the bike in 20 seconds flat, and took advantage of the careful thinking of the designers in getting it right. This is a mountain bike, of course, so it isn’t for commuters on public transport even though it looks like it is. The Tektro disc brakes and the gorgeously efficient tires complete the great image that this bike leaves on us.
+Pros:
Great frame design and folding
Powerful brakes
Full size, durable MTB
CST critter tires
Suspension lockout
-Cons:
Adjustable seat but no handlebar adjustment
Skinny grips
The Verdict
The Paratrooper is a real trooper when it comes to the trails and the dirt paths that it is made for. Portable, efficient and lightweight, this is the perfect MTB for any purpose.
We had a ton of fun using the Montague Paratrooper, and thought that it was more than worth the price that you pay for it. From the unique design to the awesome specs, this is one for the history books. However, it could see some improvement over time, which we are optimistic for!
