Ghost Lanao is a very popular bike model in Germany, even if some cyclists have never heard about the brand in the U.S. It only became available in America in 2015, and that was only through specialty retailers. Going through the trouble to get one of these bikes is well worth it, in our opinion. Lanao is a hardtail mountain bike model for women. It’s not one of those girly bikes that come in flashy colors either. This is a serious mountain bike for pro women who want a model with women-friendly size adjustments.
These bikes come with a uniquely designed top tube that gives women the much desired low stand-over height. It’s very safe in any situation. The wheels for this series are 27.5 inches, designed to remain stable even at top speeds. It’s very hard to find bikes with wheels this big and low stand-overs, so Lanao in this regard is very special. The bikes are nimble despite wheel size, and make it really easy to maneuver and take hairpin turns. Speeds are impressively fast.
The bikes in this model also come in nice colors that are not stereotypically “feminine.” But if you want a hardtail mountain bike in bright orange, you will definitely find it under this model. The bikes have alloy frames so they are very lightweight too. But our review finds that the frames could be more stiff. One weighs about 30 pounds so it’s easy enough to carry by hand. This is probably the best women’s bike model per price available right now.
