Vitus Energie Review
While the specs alone for this price range were pleasing enough, the comfort and handling of these bikes were really what won us over. The thru-axle and seatstays take on shock without much trouble, but if you head off road, you might be in for a bit of a jarring ride. You can get a great deal from these bikes, but go for the top of the line if you want to go for gold.
This cyclocross bike features a strong and lightweight aluminium frame, Energie Evo carbon forks and a Shimano GRX 2×10-Speed groupset with hydraulic disc brakes. This cyclocross warrior provides the perfect balance of comfort and control while being kitted out for the performance-demands of modern CX racing. Agile, Stable and Comfortable With its double-butted 6061-T6 aluminium frame and full carbon fork, this extremely capable CX bike offers the perfect balance of control and comfort. Refined geometry including a longer top tube and shorter stem gives the perfect balance of fit and control, whatever the conditions. We’ve obsessed over the detail with the Energie’s race-ready frameset. From the much-increased mud and tyre clearance to the internal cable routing preventing mud and water ingress, to increase shouldering comfort, this bike has it all. Shimano GRX 2×10 Groupset with Hydraulic Disc Brakes The Energie features a completely new component package for 2021. Shimano’s new GRX drivetrain provides the basis, with a GRX400/600 groupset mix. The 2×10 speed gearing gives enough gear range to conquer any course, with the GRX 400 rear deraileur featuring Shimano’s Shadow+ design and Clutch system, keeping the chain firmly in place, whatever the conditions. Tubeless Ready Wheelset The versatility of this bike is enhanced thanks to its tubeless ready wheelset and its CX specific wheelbuild. This wheelset features WTB rims and Novatec hubs, fitted with 700c x 33 race ready tyres. Plus, Vitus’ own aluminium finishing kit complete this solid package.
