Bora-Hansgrohe confirmed on 18th July, Monday, that Jai Hindley is a part of their plan for the Vuelta a España scheduled in August. Ralph Denk, the manager for the team, revealed:
The plan is he will do the Vuelta, he’s at altitude training camp, motivated and riding well so far
After an intense battle with Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) in 2022, Hindley finally managed to beat him, becoming the first Giro d’Italia winner from Australia. He stood second at the Giro of 2021.
In 2018, the 26-year-old took part in his first ever grand tour, Vuelta a España. He managed to take the 32nd position only. In alcon de Bizkaia, he stood 9th. The alcon de Bizikaia is considered an ulta-steep summit.
Ever since winning the 2022 Giro, the Australian has been absent from the screens. However, it is speculated that he will take part in the upcoming series of Spanish races namely, San Sebastián Klasikoa (July 30th), the Vuelta a Burgos (August 2nd – 6th) and he Vuelta a España (August 19th – September 11th).
Nonetheless, his role in the team is yet unconfirmed, as Ralph has not mentioned anything related to the matter. He said:
It’s confirmed we’ll have a strong team, so there will be a lot of Giro d’Italia GC guys from the squad and [2022 Volta a Catalunya winner] Sergio Higuita will be part of it, so we will see. But for sure we’ll have a good team there
